The 14th National Party Congress is a major political event that charts the country’s development orientations in a new era.

The two sides agreed to step up exchanges and contacts at all levels, particularly at the high level and between the two foreign ministries, and to enhance the ministries’ role in promoting links and cooperation.

Việt Nam now has sufficient stature, credibility and responsibility to participate in regional and global issues. The country is increasingly closely linked with global security and development issues and will continue to work with countries and multilateral institutions to address international challenges.

The State leader noted that although the ambassadors will serve in different regions, all hold important positions and roles in relation to the country’s interests, expressing his confidence that they will successfully fulfil their duties in their new roles.

Gross domestic product grew by 8.02 per cent in 2025, lifting average growth for the entire term to about 6.3 per cent, among the highest rates in Southeast Asia. The scale of the economy expanded to more than US$514 billion, placing Việt Nam among the world’s 35 largest economies, while per capita income surpassed $5,000.

Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes said the distinction recognises Nguyễn Thanh Nghị’s contributions to fostering the traditional friendship, fraternal solidarity and cooperation between Việt Nam and Cuba.
