Tân Sơn Nhất Airport welcomes the highest number of passengers during Tết
During the peak period of the 2024 Lunar New Year from January 26 to February 24, it is estimated that the airport will handle approximately 860-900 flights, and an average of around 135,000-140,000 passengers each day.

HCM CITY — HCM City’s Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport has set a record for the highest number of passengers on Friday, the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, when it welcomed nearly 151,000 passengers passing through.
The airport said there were a total of 964 flights on Friday. The total number of passengers reached nearly 151,000, with 94,635 arriving passengers and 56,314 departing passengers.
"This is the peak number of passengers that the airport has received. On February 14 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year), the airport welcomed 148,000 passengers," said a representative of the airport.
During the peak period of the 2024 Lunar New Year from January 26 to February 24, it is estimated that the airport will have approximately 860-900 flights arriving and departing, with an average of around 135,000-140,000 passengers per day.
To ensure service quality, Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport has coordinated with relevant units to deploy flight information during peak hours to regulate and allocate resources, as well as to enhance coordination and review the number of take-offs and landings to operate within the terminal's capacity.
The airport has proactively convened meetings prior to peak hours and established plans with all units involved in airport operations, coordinated and arranged personnel at the operations control centre, increased personnel and developed detailed work plans at each position, as well as in emergency response tasks, and regulated vehicles and equipment to prevent congestion.
The airport has collaborated with ground service units to arrange staff to assist passengers at security checkpoints, closely coordinated with airlines in updating flight schedules, enhanced coordination with port authorities and functional forces in ensuring security, safety and traffic order, collaborated with taxi companies and contract vehicles to increase the number of vehicles serving the airport during the holiday.
Furthermore, it has also reviewed infrastructure, operational plans and resource arrangements; inspected and maintained technical systems to ensure the readiness of equipment operation; and developed strategies and scenarios to cope with unexpected situations.
Tết at Nội Bài Airport
Many passengers were surprised and excited to receive calligraphy and enjoy traditional music performances at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Hà Nội’s Nội Bài International Airport over Tết holiday.
These activities were organised at both terminals on February 14-15 and drew a lot of interest and excitement from passengers traveling through the airport.

"The calligraphy and traditional music performances are events that honour the rich cultural heritage of Việt Nam. We take pride in this tradition and want to spread the essence of Vietnamese culture to a wide range of visitors. This is a blessing to all passengers," Deputy Director of the airport Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said.
On February 15, Nội Bài International Airport recorded about 550 flights with nearly 90,000 passengers.
The airport has continued to enhance security measures from February 6 to February 16. During the seven-day holiday, it is estimated that the airport will handle approximately 3,500 flights with over 550,000 passengers arriving and departing. — VNS
