Bringing over ten years’ experience at AMV BBDO to the role, Russell’s previous client campaigns have won over 50 creative awards on brands such as Snickers, Sainsburys, TENA, Smart Energy GB and BT.

He spent the last three years co-running AMV’s account management department made up of 120 people. There, he was responsible for the team, managing talent, overseeing operations and values, and effectively, becoming the engine behind all of the agency's creative output.

In his new position, Russell will work with Seven Stones’ chief creative officer and founder, Dr Alex Perryman, to build on the agency's creative reputation and grow that of their clients: Bayer, GE, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, MSD, Dr Falk, Sweat It, Equilibrium and NanoGenics.

Based out of the agency's West London HQ, Russell will drive Seven Stones’ global growth strategy and innovation and sit on the company's global executive team.

Seven Stones is a 28-year-old start-up that combines research science and consumer marketing, elite sports coaching and technology and personal training with creativity.

Seven Stones’ chairman, Graeme Arkell, says of Russell's appointment: “Dan is one of marketing’s top business leaders, his insight and understanding of the combination of strategy, creativity and technology is second to none.

"Dan’s business mind, people skills and entrepreneurial zeal will ensure Seven Stones continues to grow globally. Dan will play a fundamental role in our exciting next chapter.”

Russell was formerly a senior board director at AMV BBDO, where he was required to speak regularly at industry events and judge at various award shows including the DMAs. In 2015, he was a marketing academy scholar, a programme that identifies, nurtures and develops emerging talent and develops them into the marketing leaders of tomorrow. It's these experiences and knowledge that he will lean on in his new post.

Dan Russell says: “I am thrilled to be joining Seven Stones, an agency with market leading creative abilities in a fascinating growth sector with huge potential. Their investment in creativity and innovation has created a team that is both talented and fun.

"Seven Stones is designed to bring authentically different ideas to the table, and moreover, deliver them.”
